SISTER, MORGAN SCANLON, RECOGNIZED FOR ANTI-HAZING EFFORTS
As BGSU continues its fight for a hazing free campus, student leaders have emerged and are making waves. These peer educators have dedicated themselves to the improvement of our university and its organizations. One of those students committed to making Bowling Green a safe space, is Alpha Chi Omega's own, Morgan Scanlon.
Morgan's desire to make change has been evident throughout her time in Greek Life, serving as Vice President Of Philanthropy within our Beta Phi chapter, and as Vice President Of Service on BGSU's Panhellenic Executive Board. Morgan says that she wanted to join the fight against hazing because she, "Wanted to make a difference in our BG community." She goes on to say that she, "Saw how hazing effected members of not only the greek community at BG, but everyone."
Morgan's passion to end hazing has been evident to her peers and campus. She was chosen to serve on both the Piazza Center Student Research Advisory Committee and BG's National Hazing Prevention Week Committee. Through these positions she has been able to contribute to anti-hazing research and programs.
In an article published in the Sentinel Tribune on April 12th, Morgan, alongside fellow student, Sydney Newby, was given recognition for her outstanding anti-hazing efforts. The piece detailed the ways in which students are taking action after the passing of fellow student Stone Flotz. Click the line bellow to read the article.
Our chapter could not be more proud to have a sister recognized in this way. Morgan inspires us to become leaders and fight for what is right every day. She embodies our chapter's values and takes them with her in everything she does. Love you Morgan!
