Letter from The President

My name is Hannah Davis, the current President of the Beta Phi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. Coming into college last fall, I was not sure if I wanted to join the Greek community. The formal recruitment process is daunting but I was welcomed with a sweet smile at the big red door of house 10, the place I now call home. The women of Alpha Chi Omega made me feel so comfortable with the genuineness that radiated throughout the room. When I opened my bid and ran “home”, I knew this was going to be an incredible opportunity. Every day since then, the women of Alpha Chi Omega have validated that.

Looking at the Alpha Chi Omega Headquarters resource page while preparing for elections, I was instantly inspired by the words that flashed across my screen regarding the role of “Chapter President”. Found in the midst of the Oath of Confidentiality, there are three bolded phrases. Serving is a privilege. Serving is an honor. Serving is a responsibility. Getting this position and living what I have the privilege, honor, and responsibility of overseeing, my passion for Alpha Chi Omega has only grown. Every member of this chapter joined for a reason, whether that was because of our strong set of values,(Academic Interest, Character, Leadership Ability, Financial Responsibility, and Personal Development) a special connection made during formal or informal recruitment, resonating with our powerful philanthropy, domestic violence, and sexual assault awareness, or the positive vibe felt when walking through our big red door. Learning about each of these women’s “why Alpha Chi’s”, I have been inspired and have made it my goal to be a support system for every single member through all walks of life.

I am confident when I say that each individual woman in our chapter inspires me daily as I see how well each of them live up to our values. I am humbled and honored to have the chance to not only represent a chapter full of women I someday hope to be like, but represent the amazing qualities I see within each of them. The Beta Phi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega has given me more confidence, support, acceptance, and love than I could ever ask for. Thank you to all of my Real Strong Women who share the same goal as me, someday reaching the heights.
